Judges 11:12-40
1. Which king did Jephthah have to fight against?
a. The king of the Ammonites.

a. God
3. What vow did Jephthah make to God?
a. v30 And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD: "If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."
4. Who came out to meet Jephthah when he returned home in triumph from Ammonites?
a. v34 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter.
5. Did Jephthah keep his vow? What should we do when we made a promise?
a. Yes he did. We should keep our promise once we made one. Be careful of what you say and promise.
Judges 12
1. Was Ephraim part of Israel? Then why did they come to fight with Jephthah who was also an Israelite?
a. Ephraim claimed that Jephthah fought Ammonites without calling them. Bad jealous attitude.
2. Should brothers and sisters fight against themselves? What should the Israelite focus on fighting against? What should you focus on fighting against?
a. The Israelite should focus on fighting against their common enemy, the Canaanites. We should focus fighting against the evil, not on ourselves. We should love one another.
Judges 13
1. What did the angel say to the wife of a man of Zorah, named Manoah, who could not have a child?
a. "You are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son. 4 Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean, 5 because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines."
2. What was the one word that woman describe the angel of God?
a. Awesome. This word should not be used lightly, it is to refer to someone that makes us awe upon. That person can only be God.
3. When did Manoah realize that the man was an angel of God?
a. v20 As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.
4. What name did they give to the baby boy?
a. Samsom.
Judges 14
1. Was it right for an Israelite to marry a Philistine?
a. No. God forbids inter marriage with foreigner because they would lead them away from God.
2. Did Samson obey his parents when they disagree with his desire? What do you think he act like?
a. Samson insisted his desire to marry the Philistine woman and disobey his parent. He was acting like an immature baby, who wants what he wants and has to be right now.
3. What did the thirty companions do when they cannot figure out the riddle?
a. v13" For three days they could not give the answer. 15 On the fourth day, they said to Samson's wife, "Coax your husband into explaining the riddle for us, or we will burn you and your father's household to death. Did you invite us here to rob us?"
4. Should we act dishonestly to get our way? What do you think the thirty companions should do instead when they cannot give the answer?
a. Always act righteously even when time it is not the way we want. They should admit they cannot answer the riddle. It takes more courage to admit a failure then to act in an unrighteous way to cover it. Be a courageous person that God desired.
Judge 15
1. What did Samson do when Philistines offended him?
a. He got even. v3 Samson said to them, "This time I have a right to get even with the Philistines; I will really harm them."
2. Is that God’s way to deal with people taking advantage of us?
a. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. (Roman 12:19)
b. He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8. We are required to act justly, if something is serious enough to report to the authority.
3. Why God help Samson by giving him a water to drink after he destroy the Philistines and was thirsty? Did God agree of what he has done?
a. God help every sinner or imperfect person, Samson was one, so as you and me. If God only help the complete righteous person, there is no one on earth deserved God’s help. God never agree on unrighteous act, but he helps any sinner sincerely cry out to Him.
Acts 15
1. What did some men come down from Judea was teaching falsely to the brother in Antioch?
a. "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved."
2. It is through what we are saved? Do we need to do something good first?
a. v11 …We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.
3. Why Paul seek the council at Jerusalem (Peter and other apostles) even though he knew the answer?
a. From Paul we learn that a person has to respect the authority of a church. We are under church leadership authority (Pastor, elder, deacon, and minister), God teaches us to respect and obey the authority. They are not perfect but they are the representation of a perfect God.
4. God save you just as you are, nothing else is required from you, only your faith in Jesus Christ. How does that make you feel?
Acts 16
1. Who did Paul found in Lystra that he wanted to take him along the journey?
a. Timothy
2. Who prevent Paul from going to province of Asia and Bithynia?
a. Holy Spirit and Spirit of Jesus.
3. Who did Paul and the group find outside the city gate to the river?
a. They found a place of prayer for a group of women gathered there.
4. Who was Lydia? How was she saved?
a. V14…a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message. v15 When she and the members of her household were baptized…
5. In whose name that Paul made the evil spirit come out of the slave girl?
a. V18…Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her.
6. What were Paul and Sila doing in a jail at night after being flogged (beaten)? Then, what happened?
a. v25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. v26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose.
7. What would you usually do when you are in trouble? What can you learn from Paul and Sila?
8. What was the answer that Paul gave when the guard asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”?
a. Paul and Sila replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."
Acts 17
1. Were there people that hated Paul, Sila and those believed in Jesus? Will some people hate you because you believe in Jesus?
a. Yes, the jealous Jews hated Paul, Sila and those believed in Jesus. There will be some that hate us too if we follow Jesus, but God told us to love them because they are also God’s creation that do not know God.
2. What did Bereans do after they heard Paul and Sila?
a. V11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
3. What should we do after we heard a message about God?
a. We should examine with the bible of what we heard and see if they are true.
4. Our God is righteous, what will He do at a appointed time with all of us?
a. v31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.
5. Since you know you will be judged by God in all your action, how would you do everything differently now?
Acts 18
1. What promises that Paul received from the Lord in a vision?
a. v9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. v10 For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city."
2. Are we all alone when we are attack by people who do not believe in God?
a. Christian are not always alone, we usually are surrounded by more or less of His people.
3. How long was Paul stayed in Corinth?
a. v11 So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.
4. Who did Paul stay and work with?
a. v2 There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them, v3 and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them.
5. How was Apollos described as?
a. 24 Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. 25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John.
Acts 19
1. Whose baptism did the believer in Ephesus received? What baptism should they ultimately receive?
a. v3 So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. v4 Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." v5 On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. Two baptisms, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
2. Whenever Paul preach about Jesus, there was always two responses. What were they?
a. People who believed and people who did not want to believe.
3. Should you be surprised when people do not believe you when you tell them about Jesus? Should we get angry at them?
a. No, it is their choice. Never get angry on their decision, but love them.
4. In whose name that people used to cast out evil spirit? Why?
a. Jesus name. Because Jesus name has the ultimate power and authority over all thing, spiritual world and physical world.
5. Who stirred up riot against Paul in Ephesus? Why?
a. V24 A silversmith named Demetrius. He lost business because people were not buying man-made gods from them after believing in Jesus.
b. V25 "Men, you know we receive a good income from this business. 26 And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that man-made gods are no gods at all. 27 There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited, and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty."
